Physical Education

Everyone at The Herewoode Academy will have one lesson of Physical Education (PE) on their timetable every week, no matter what options you chose. We believe it is very important to continue with practical PE in order for you to maintain a healthy active lifestyle.

Practical

You will cover a number of activities during the year. These will be from:

• Football
• Tennis
• Dodgeball
• Athletics
• Kinball
• Badminton
• Handball
• Rounders
• Gymnastics
• Trampolining
• Freestyle Gymnastics
• Netball
• Basketball
• Volleyball
• Rugby

Leadership

Throughout KS4 there will be various leadership opportunities for you to get involved with. This will include helping to lead at various primary school sporting events as well as the option to acquire coaching and refereeing qualifications which can help in your future career.   

Assessment

You will not be assessed in Core PE.
