Enterprise (Business)

This exciting course encourages you to build your skills in Business ready to apply them to the real world. Whether you are a budding entrepreneur or planning a career route through higher education, the Technical Award in Enterprise is for you. You will work towards a BTEC Enterprise grade Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction *.  

What the course involves 

You will complete 3 components throughout Years 10 and 11 and include the following content: 

Assessment

Components 1 and 2 are assessed through non-exam internal assessments. These  assessments are written coursework tasks and include a practical delivery of a business plan.  

Component 3 is an external assessment and takes place as a formal examination. 

Requirements

A positive attitude and a willingness to work to deadlines are essential, as are being aware of the world around you and being able to articulate and justify your own opinions. 

Where can it lead?

Career opportunities

This course leads onto further study at A Level and Level 3 BTEC, which in turn leads to undergraduate degrees in Business. Alternatively, it is a good grounding for an apprenticeship specialising in Business, as well as  numerous jobs in the Business industry. You can use your skills in areas such as: communication, global markets, banking, finance, human resources,  marketing, research and development.

Post-16 opportunities 

It will act as a foundation for further study of Enterprise and Entrepreneurship in higher education and  apprenticeships.
